Annibaliano station was design in order to be integrated with the surrounding urban area, reducing the structures above the ground level. A large open space constitutes the architectural and urban center of the new station and represents an important measure for urban renewal as well. The construction system requires the creation of slabs during the excavation between concrete wall using the Top-Down technique. The choice of this method was dictated by the need to minimize the effects of deformation and the consequent subsidence, given the remarkable depth of excavation and the geological characteristics of the site.
